Plano-Convex

PCX Lenses have a positive focal length, making them ideal for collecting and focusing light in imaging applications. They are also useful in a variety of applications involving emitters, detectors, lasers, and fiber optics. Coated versions have optimum light transmission. Can be Supplied in a wide variety of diameters and focal lengths.

These lenses are available with a variety of anti-reflection coating options including: VIS-NIR, MgF2

Plano-Convex (PCX) Lenses( Silicon) : Silicon is a popular NIR material for the 1.2 to 7μm region due to its low cost and low density. Because of its low density (half that of Germanium or Zinc Selenide), Silicon is ideal for weight-sensitive applications, especially those in the 3 -5μm region. Density is 2.33 g/cm3 and Knoop Hardness is 1150, making it harder and less brittle than Germanium

Biconvex Lens

Double-Convex (DCX) Lenses have two outward curved surfaces, a positive focal length and are useful for 1:1 imaging and in multi-element systems.

These lenses are available uncoated or with other Anti-Reflection coating options including: VIS-NIR, MgF2

Plano-Concave

(PCV) lenses have one flat and one inward curved surface. PCV lenses have a negative focal length and are used for image reduction or to spread light. All dimensions are in mm.

Biconcave Lens

Double-Concave Lenses have two inward curved surfaces and a negative focal length. They are used for image reduction and to spread light. All dimensions are in mm.

Achromatic Lenses

The classic structure of a doublet combines a positively powered crown element with a negatively powered flint element. They deliver high performance when the application involves small fields of view, typically up to 6 degrees. Their image quality surpasses that of singlets.

Triplet Lens

triplet

Typically a symmetrical optics design, these lenses are excellent when used at 1 to 1 magnification and have a wider field of view than cemented doublets.

Aspheric Lenses

Our Plastic and Glass Aspheric Lenses offer a lightweight alternative to glass spherical or aspherical lenses. It is low weight and made of Optical Grade PMMA material makes these lenses ideal for OEM and research applications.

Zinc Selenide Infrared (IR) Aspheric Lenses

Zinc Selenide aspheric lenses provide diffraction limited focusing performance. Ideal for focusing the output of a CO2 laser, the lenses are offered uncoated, providing excellent performance over a broad spectral range of 0.6µm to 18.0µm.

Cylindrical Lenses

Focuses light in only one dimension. Similar to a PCX lens in profile, but is a portion of a cylinder instead of a sphere. Cylinder lenses can transform a point of light into a line image.

Note: For rectangular lenses, radius of curvature is parallel to first dimension.

Rod Lenses

Rod Lenses are polished on the circumference and ground on both ends. Optical performance is similar to a cylinder lens. Collimated light passing through the diameter of the rod will be focused into a line. Material: UV Fused Silica or BK-7

Ball Lens

Ball lenses are glass spheres commonly used in fiber optic applications. They are ideal for focusing light into fibers as well as fiber coupling. Ball Lenses are available in N-BK7 and N-SF8 substrates.
